The New York City-based Aurora Center for the treatment of eating disorders was co-founded by Marissa Sappho and Maria Sorbara Mora, who met in 2013 when working together on an outpatient team. Their continued collaboration and shared vision for a yoga-based eating disorder clinic led them to the dream of building Aurora. Together, they established a safe and welcoming space to nurture body awareness and acceptance, as well as the true healing of mind, body, and soul.

Aurora means dawn, or new beginning. On the path to recovery from an eating disorder, every day is a chance for that new beginning.
