This lunchtime Mindful Meal Group uses yogic principles including meditation and mindfulness techniques to support individuals in their recovery process. For individuals who may need some support around independent meals, this group provides the opportunity to practice Integrated Eating allowing for progress during each stage of recovery, from the first step of structured eating through mastery. Individuals will bring their own lunches to the group under the guidance of the group leader for two sessions per month, while other weeks will include take-out/delivery food challenges, and eating in community at local area restaurants and Whole Foods. New meditations will be shared weekly and participants will work toward building their own mindfulness practice outside of the group. This group is especially useful for clients wanting additional ways to incorporate and practice DBT mindfulness skills.
